
Jackfruit Bao
Soft Chinese bun filled with Jackfruit

Ingredients
- 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
- 2 tsp ginger powder
- 1 tbsp hoisinsauce
- 1 can young green jackfruit
- 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1/2 tbsp corn flour
- Bao
Toppings
- 2 spring onion
- 1/4 cucumber
- sweet-n-sour
- sesame seeds
- hoisin sauce
- 1 red pepper
- coriander
Instructions
- Rinse the jackfruit and pull the pieces apart, make sure it's dry enough before adding to the pan
- Add the corn flour to the jackfruit and mix it well
- Put the sunflower oil in the pan and bake the diced onion
- Add the jackfruit to the pan and let that bake with the onion
- After a couple of minutes of baking add all the other dry ingredients to the pan: ginger, garlic and Chinese five spices
- Add the brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce and soy sauce. Mix it well and let it bake for at least 5 minutes
- Put a greaseproof paper to a baking tray and add the jackfruit mixture to that
- Add salt and pepper to taste and also some extra hoisin sauce
- Add the baking tray to the oven and bake in a 185 C degrees for about 20 minutes, toss the jackfruit halfway
- Assemble the bao to your liking
